Post by Jeremy H. DenisovanWhat do you think is 'good' about Carol Tiggs returning
to support Cleargreen workshops?
Do you think being a deceptive opportunist who helps dupe
other people is a 'good' thing? Do you enjoy being duped?
### - i initially made a dumb joke about all this in some small effort to
maybe 'offset' the inevitable tide of anger (+ every other possible
reaction ya can imagine, all of it quite negative really) sweeping amongst
a certain group of peeps that carol tiggs' return was/is 'bound' to
create! and best advice is to do the same?
It ain't that big a deal. But there's an important issue here,
which is that Carol Tiggs is one of the last remaining people
who could actually tell sizable portions of the truth about what
really happened with Carlos Castaneda, if she just had the guts
to stop milking the damn game.
Not all the truth; she came along a bit too late to know that,
but she could tell ... a lot, because CC wrote all kinds of nonsense
about her, and she knows what the truth is. She could talk.
Yeah, I know she's heavily invested, and that she led on a lot
of people at Cleargreen, but she could still tell the truth
if she could pull her head out of her entitled ass and get
free of all the hornswoggle she got fed by Gurdjieff's peeps
and Carlos and a bunch of herbalists and acupuncturists.
On second thought, I suppose that's a lot of bs to cut through,
so it's a long shot. :)
But still, the best possible treatment that woman could ever get
from history is to REALLY come clean and tell the whole truth.
She just hasn't figured that out yet, and maybe won't...
unless I like ... make a big issue out of it!! (wink, wink)
Pretty please with luminous fuckin' energy on top??
Post by slideri mean, for example, 'you personally' seemed to be doin' alright recently
really; just getting on with your life, taking some pretty cools pics of
mother nature and enjoying it, appreciating good music, trying to deal
with reality + taking part in debating the nature of it etc + trying to be
objective (which imho is the best anyone can basically do anyway under
'any' circumstances really) and imho not really doin' that bad either,
which is good! laudable! and acceptable! it's all... real
Well, it's not like I'm going to stop doing all that. :)
Last night we drove into the heart of hell to see a slice of heaven -
the premiere of a special film, made back in 1974 but never shown
until now: A Poem Is A Naked Person, mostly about Leon Russell.
The premiere was in a beautifully ornate theatre at The Ace Hotel
in downtown LA, and we had a gourmet meal right next door beforehand,
and there was Q&A afterwards with Leon Russell and T-Bone Burnett,
in person. The anecdotes and banter between those two was priceless.
I want my own copy of this film for several reasons. One reason is
that over the credits Willis Alan Ramsey sings a wonderful song
I'd never heard before about swimming 'Naked At The Lake' which
isn't available anywhere else. Another reason is that the versions
of "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" and "A Satisfied Mind" that Leon
does in the film are magnificent. There's also a scene of a
building being demolished with explosives in Tulsa, and I was
there at that event (about age 16). Lots of shots of Tulsa in it.
There's considerable footage on the building of Leon's house
on Grand Lake O' the Cherokees in Northeast Oklahoma - the lake
our family vacationed on for 10 years when I was growing up. And they
visit with this strange guy who made totem poles named Ed Galloway.
We used to stop into that place too, on our way to the lake.
There's lots more in the film that's personally relevant for me.

Post by slideriow: (and maybe ya might be able to accept this from li'l old me) you've
worked hard and made/cleared a space for yourself, right in the middle of
a pile of shit (the life situation of virtually everyone on this planet in
one form or another really huh) so then don't let 'anything' (or anyone!)
take that away from ya again, ok? you're doin' alright man!
barkeep! give my-man here a nice drink! (or a smoke, whichever he prefers)
Look man, I still don't know what Riley's doing for a life these days,
because I've been living his. Ridiculously luxurious and fun. :)

I'm getting ready to do another extended road trip in July.
And in August we're taking another week up around Yosemite.
It almost ought to be criminal to have this much fun...
but I'm going to keep getting it while the gettin's good.

I find it's often easy to be both at the same time.
